Community involvement
Mr. Peter Cipriano is the current president of the Irpinia Club of Toronto which promotes and celebrates the rich diversity of Italian culture in Canada.
Mr. Cipriano has been involved with local hospitals and other community agencies for over two decades for many not-for-profit and fundraising events. They include: Canadian Cancer Society, Humber River Hospital, William Osler Foundation, The Salvation Army, United Way of York Region, Sick Kids Foundation, Vaughan Health Care Foundation, and Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre.
In 2018, Mr. Cipriano made a landmark gift of $10 million to Sunnybrook to reinvent geriatric care to increase the well-being of seniors, while reducing demands on the health-care system. The Peter Cipriano Centre for Seniors' Health will create a first-ever patient-centred model of care to keep seniors healthy and in their community.
